The state program officer(SPO) of the Kebbi state international fund for agricultural development (IFAD) Malam Bala Muhammad has said that, the state field office in Birnin Kebbi has established 17 farmers field and business schools in the 10 IFAD focused local councils.

According to him three hundred and seventy nine (379) young farmers are to benefit from  the agronomics and business field schools, he added that,the schools intends to assist the beneficiaries with modern high technology of agricultural business to add to the number of existing young farmers in the state.

The SPO explained that at the end of the training IFAD CASP will give each graduand water pumps,seeds, chemicals and fertilizer to boost yields of their crops which will ecomically empower them and the state to create a value chain in the field of agriculture.

In a similar development, IFAD stated recently observed green field day where three hundred persons were used during the program, he stated that agricultural experts were drawn from many places to inspects farms of the beneficiaries to ask them the technology they used in their farms and how they intend to transmit same technological training to others.

The green field day had in attendence the state commissioner of Agric Barrister Attahiru Maccido,his permanent secretary mister Joel Aiki and the state programm manager of KARDA Sanusi Umar Illo and the host himself Bala Muhammad.
