In a significant development, the Osun State Police Command announced the arrest of Mr. Adeniyi Talabi, a manager at a first-generation bank branch in Osogbo, for allegedly orchestrating the theft of N650 million belonging to 35 bank customers.

According to the police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, Talabi is accused of perpetrating the fraud by deceiving the victims and conducting illegal transactions under the guise of “proof of funds.”

Opalola confirmed that Talabi has been suspended by the bank pending further investigation, and assured that the investigation into the case is progressing smoothly. She emphasized that Talabi and his accomplices would face prosecution once the investigation is completed.

The statement from the police underscores the commitment of the Osun State Police Command to combatting crime and ensuring the safety and security of residents. It serves as a warning to potential perpetrators that Osun will not tolerate criminal activities within its borders.
