Nigerian music artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, found himself spending the night in a police cell after failing to meet the bail conditions set for his release. Portable was arrested due to his refusal to pay a N14 million debt he incurred when purchasing a G-Wagon from a car dealer in Lagos State.
According to a source familiar with the situation, Portable was unable to meet the bail conditions set for his release after his arrest on Tuesday. The source explained that Portable had paid N13 million for the G-Wagon, which was priced at N27 million, but refused to pay the remaining balance despite requests from the car dealer.
Confirming the situation, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that Portable was still in police custody due to his failure to provide a reliable surety.
