Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, famously known as Evans, the convicted billionaire kidnapper, along with his co-defendant Joseph Emeka, has opted for a plea bargain in the ongoing case against them at the Lagos State High Court.

Facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping, Evans and Emeka appeared before Justice Adenike Coker for re-arraignment. However, the state prosecution counsel, Mr. Yusuf Sule, informed the court about their intention to pursue a plea bargain.

Sule revealed that the defendants had applied for a plea bargain, and the terms were under consideration by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN).

The case involves an amended five-count charge, including murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit felony related to kidnapping and attempted murder.

Evans, known for his high-profile kidnapping operations, seems to be exploring the possibility of reaching a settlement with the prosecution. The plea bargain, if accepted, could potentially lead to a reduction in charges or sentencing in exchange for cooperation or admission of guilt.
