Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has declared triumph over those who sought to undermine his administration, asserting that his detractors are now reaping the consequences of their schemes.

Expressing his contentment with the unwavering support from the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Governor Fubara urged the Ijaw Nation to join in celebrating the newfound liberation experienced in the state.

His remarks came during a visit by the national and state leadership of the IYC, who embarked on a solidarity walk to the Government House in Port Harcourt to commemorate the 2024 Issac Adaka Boro Day.

Governor Fubara emphasized the legacy of Major Isaac Adaka Boro, highlighting his commitment to equity, justice, and the liberation of the Ijaw people. He underscored the shared goal of liberation among genuine Rivers indigenes, regardless of ethnic background.

In defiance of recent crises aimed at disrupting his one-year anniversary celebration in office, Governor Fubara asserted that his adversaries are now facing the consequences of their actions, metaphorically suggesting that they are “sleeping with their eyes open.”

Emphasizing the spirit of action over rhetoric, Governor Fubara urged Ijaw youths to celebrate peacefully and uphold the ideals of Major Isaac Adaka Boro as ambassadors of the Ijaw Nation.
