The Federal Government has indefinitely suspended the Air Nigeria airline project. This announcement was made by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, Festus Keyamo, during the ministerial briefing marking the first year of the Tinubu administration.

Keyamo clarified that the airline project was not genuinely Nigerian but an attempt to use a foreign airline to masquerade as a national carrier. “The airline was never a Nigerian airline but an attempt to use a foreign airline to pose as a Nigerian national airline,” Keyamo stated.

In related news, Keyamo mentioned that Emirates flights to Nigeria are expected to resume in June, providing a significant relief to travelers affected by the suspension of flights by the airline.

The indefinite suspension of the Air Nigeria project marks a significant shift in the government’s approach to establishing a national airline, emphasizing transparency and genuine national interest in future endeavors.
