Officials of SEFP2023 on Friday got approval of the Nigeria Police: Police Force (FCID) to go their peaceful way, following the failure for the second time of the petitioner, Barr. Nkem Okoro and his clients to attend the second meeting scheduled for them to justify their allegations against the South East for president group led by National Coordinator, Rev. Okechukwu Obioha.
The meeting according to our sources was earlier slated for Thursday 14th January 2021, to investigate Okoro’s petition to the Inspector General of Police against the SEFP2023 that it engages in partisan politics in breach of its terms of registration, training youths to win the presidential election in 2023 that would led to a breach of the peace in Nigeria if not stopped, and extorting money from members of the unsuspecting public.
While Obioha, the group’s national secretary, Ogubuike lbeagi, national legal adviser, Udensi Jonas, national administrative secretary, Patience lfebuchi Chukwu, members of the FCT Chapter led by His Royal Highness, Dr Tobias Ibiechina and accompanied by a member of the National Advisory Board, High Chief Hon Obi Anoliefo responded, Okoro and his clients were absent.
When the investigating police officers contacted Okoro, he requested for the meeting to be rescheduled for Friday January 15 at 9am.
But when SEFP2023 officials arrived FCID yesterday, Okoro and his clients could not be seen for the second time for the meeting they fixed.
Said our source: “When contacted on phone to report to FCID Area 10, Abuja as scheduled, Okoro told the investigating police officers that he didn’t know that his clients travelled outside Abuja and was not sure when they would return to prove their allegations against Rev Obioha and SEFORP2023, stressing that his coming to FCID to meet the group would be a nullity in the absence of his clients.”
In the light of this, “Hamstrung, the investigating officers told Rev. Obioha and his team to go back pending when Nkem Okoro and his clients would be ready to address the matter and April 2021 was now given, as Okoro’s suit at Enugu High Court comes up in March, having failed to appear in court in the last sitting on 22nd December 2020. The petition he also filed at the Police Command Enugu has been overtaken as the FCID, Abuja is handling the same matter”.
Reacting to the development, Rev. Obioha restated that the allegations against the group “were figments of the fertile imaginations of the petitioner and his clients aimed at distracting the group from its patriotic quest for president of South East extraction in 2023.”
He said that SEFP2023 is focused and strongly determined to achieve its objective in the interest of justice, equity, fairness, unity, stability and mutual coexistence of various ethnic nationalities that make up the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Obioha commended patriotic Nigerians who have keyed into the group’s campaign demanding for a president from the South East and urged eligible aspirants from the zone to declare their interest to run for president.

Okoro and his clients with a view to finding if somebody or a group opposed to South East producing the next president is bankrolling the multiple frivolous petitions and litigations by Okoro and also probe their agenda.
