The Kebbi State Nigeria peace corps has joined millions across the globe to mark world peace day, the day which was set aside globally to call on individuals to embrace peace as a solution to many problems being face in Africa and other parts of the world.

Officers in the command held a peaceful procession in Birnin Kebbi to educate youth on the need to ensure peace reign in the land, they flooded the major streets in the state capital, to add colour to the global peace March, the state commandant patriot Abubakar J Abubakar said they visited a skills acquisition center in Birnin Kebbi to enlighten youth at center to endure as they will very soon become employers of labour as long as they practice what they have learnt at the center, he urged them not to allow themselves to used as instruments of destruction but see themselves as the backbone of the society “we must give peace a chance for a sustainable growth and development without peace nothing can be achieved he said”.

He decries blood bath in the country from boko haram and banditry which claimed thousands of lives and had displaced millions in Nigeria and other parts of Africa, he called on the powers that be globally to ensure peace he lamented that, most victims of insurgency are youth who could have contributed to nation building.

The procession terminated at the peace corps office in Birnin Kebbi where it began, addressing  the 21 commandants that were drawn from various local governments peace corps offices, the state commandant thanked them for attending the peace rally he warned them against any breach of law and other, as peace corps officers their primary role is to preach peace wherever they are and to synagise with other uniform men to ensure the needed peace in the land, he added that his officers will be seen everywhere discharging their duties as the ambassadors of peace, he thanked the executive governor of Kebbi State Senator Atiku Bagudu for the peaceful environment he provided for the corps operations in the state.
