The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has presented its Certificate of Return to its Kwara State House of Assembly candidate for Afon Constituency, Hon. Salman Ridwan Dan Sokoto, ahead of the forthcoming election.
The certificate was presented on Friday at the party’s secretariat in Ilorin by the PDP State Secretary during a ceremony attended by party executives, stakeholders, youth leaders, and supporters from across the constituency.
Speaking after receiving the certificate, Dan Sokoto thanked the party leadership and members for entrusting him with the party’s ticket, describing the nomination as a call to service.
He pledged to run an issue-based campaign centred on youth empowerment, improved education, healthcare delivery, and infrastructure development.
The PDP candidate also commended the leadership of former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, describing him as a strong pillar of the party in Kwara State.
According to him, Saraki’s vision, sacrifice, and commitment have continued to strengthen the PDP and inspire members across the state.
He reaffirmed his loyalty to the party leadership and expressed confidence that the PDP would secure victory in the forthcoming election through unity and grassroots mobilisation.
Speaking during the presentation, the PDP State Chairman, Alhaji Issa Adam Bawa, urged the candidate to uphold the party’s ideals of service, inclusiveness, and unity while engaging with constituents.
He also called on party members to remain united and intensify mobilisation efforts to ensure the party’s success at the polls.
Dan Sokoto assured constituents that, if elected, he would provide transparent, accountable, and accessible representation while prioritising the welfare and development of the people of Afon Constituency.
