Prince Harry emphasized the importance of discussing mental health openly during a session with students in Abuja. He highlighted that addressing mental health concerns helps to reduce stigma surrounding the issue. The Duke of Sussex’s remarks were made during his visit to Nigeria as part of efforts to promote awareness and support for mental health initiatives.

The couple arrived Friday in the Nigerian capital Abuja, where they visited a school to open an event on mental health for students there.

Excitedly, greeted by a drum and dance group from the Igbo ethnic group, Prince Harry and Meghan toured the Lightway Academy, where they were welcomed by pupils.

Mental health

Speaking to students, Harry, wearing a traditional Nigerian bead necklace around his neck, said: “If you take anything away from today, just know that mental health affects every single person.

“The more you talk about it the more you can kick stigma away.”

Also, Meghan joined the Duke of Sussex on the stage. Then they left for a meeting with Nigerian military commanders as part of the Invictus programme.

Students’ reaction

Reacting, a student Nnena Edeh, 13, as the prince left the school, said: “It was really cool. I just wanted to touch him. It was really inspiring.”

Earlier, Prince Harry was in London on Wednesday to mark the 10th anniversary of the games.

  1. This design is steller! You certainly know how to keep a reader amused.
Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to
start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Fantastic job.
I really loved what you had to say, and more than that,
how you presented it. Too cool!

  2. I’ve been browsing the internet for more than three hours, and I haven’t seen any posts as fascinating as yours. I think it’s well worth the investment. If more bloggers and website owners created content as good as you do, the internet would be significantly more useful than it already is.
