The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abia State Chapter has resolved its internal crisis that led to the suspension of its chairman, Chief Johnson Onuigbo few day ago by some members of the state executive of the party.

Onuigbo was last week suspended by 19 members of the state working committee (SWC) bordering on sundry allegations of high handedness, lack of transparency, accountability and running the party as if it is his private business.

The aggrieved party exco members also accused Onuigbo of violating section 21(3) provisions of the party constitution which stipulates that the party should meet not less than twice in a month.

Speaking during a media chat in Umuahia, which was attended by few members of the SWC, Onuigbo said that the issues that led to his suspension have been resolved at the instance of the state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.

Onuigbo said that there is no more division within the party as they are poised now as members of one family to approach the 2019 election with a view of ensuring the victory of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and other PDP candidates.

He attributed now resolved crisis to handiwork of mischief makers that are envy of peace and resoluteness in the party, stating that the enemy is never happy where there is peace.

He said, “Abia PDP is adjudged to be the most peaceful in the country and we have been doing well as a party, the last primary election we conducted was credible, free and fair, as we kept our promise to our member that was why no member of our party defected after the primaries”.

“But you know that any place there is peace, Satan is always around the corner, the Bible says the farmer planted his seed and enemy came in the night and planted theirs, so the enemy came to destruct the peace we are enjoying in the state, but we have defeated the enemy and we are back again as a family”.

Onuigbo assured that PDP as members of one family has resolved its difference and therefore remained intact and prepared for the electioneering campaign and elections.

He cautioned the opposition parties in the state which he said are still engulfed by series of crisis not to rejoice over the little storm in the PDP, boasting that they have buried their hatchets and now prepared to deliver all their qualified candidates in the coming elections.

One of the aggrieved state officials of the party in the state Matthew Ibe confirmed the reconciliation of the differences amongst the party leaders, adding that the communiqué which suspended the party chairman would be retracted formally in writing.
