Kano State Deputy Governor, Aminu Gwarzo, has accused former governor Abdullahi Ganduje of using federal resources to create unrest by attempting to reinstate the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.

Gwarzo made these allegations during a press conference at the Emir’s palace in Kano on Saturday morning, stating that Ganduje, with support from the National Security Adviser’s office, facilitated Bayero’s return to Kano on a chartered flight.

“It is unfortunate that the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, is using the National Security Adviser to create tension in the state by smuggling in the former emir, Aminu Ado Bayero,” Gwarzo stated.

The deputy governor emphasized that the authority to appoint or depose an emir lies solely with the state government. He questioned the Federal Government’s involvement in the matter.

“I am here together with the governor and other top government functionaries to ensure that the new emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II, starts exercising his power and authority immediately after receiving his appointment letter yesterday (Friday),” Gwarzo added.

He urged Kano residents to continue their daily activities without fear or intimidation.

Earlier on Saturday, Bayero arrived in Kano to a large crowd of supporters, marking his return amidst the ongoing political tension
