The ward chairman of the All progressive Congress APC Umar Bakatara of Zauro under Birnin Kebbi local government has announced the immediate suspension from the party of one Shafiu Abubakar Zauro over what the party described as unguarded utterances and lack of respect to the party.
Shafiu who is one of the Birnin kebbi local government chairmanship aspirant and a domestic aid to the attorney general of federation Abubakar malami recently granted an interview to a radio house in Birnin kebbi where he accused the state government of using local government funds to sponsor his wives NGOs,he also urged the party to ensure transparent primaries and to sale nomination forms to all contestants which the party refused as he was among those that were denied access to the form.
Reacting to his suspension from the party Shafiu said his suspension will not stand because the party didn’t follow the constitution as he was never invited by the party’s disciplinary committee to defend himself,”they hurriedly went on air to announce my suspension because none of them can dispute what I have said Shafiu said.
Since the announcement of the local governments polls by the party, it has been consumed by lots of squabbles emanating from their plans to avoid primaries by conducting consensus but many local government failed to reach truce as complaints of imposition of candidates continue to add pressure to the party.
