No fewer than 3,000 persons from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to add to growing popularity of the party in Delta State.
Addressing a mammoth crowd at the rally to receive the decampees, the Chairman of SDP in Udu Local Government Area, Hon. Shedrack Okolobi while appreciating the decision taken by them to join the party and their readiness to work for the party to deliver Prince Sylvester Ogba Dugbo, who is contesting for the State House of Assembly under the platform of the party, told the decampees to take the advantage of the growing popularity of the party by working for its progress.
The Udu Local Government Area SDP Chairman described Prince Sylvester Dugbo – the SDP House of Assembly Aspirant as a transformer and performer who is interested to take the party to higher standard.
Hon. Okolobi therefore advised the people to capitalise on the opportunity of the ongoing voters registration exercise by ensuring that they get themselves registered that will enable them to vote.
Speaking at the rally Rev. Philip Bilotu who is a strong supporter of Prince Sylvester Dugbo pointed out that the House of Assembly aspirant is not a hungry man as he is currently doing well in his various businesses but because of his desire to serve his people and improve their living standard that is why he has indicated his interest to contest for the State House of Assembly seat in Udu Constituency.
Rev. Bilotu noted that Prince Dugbo who is already giving out Scholarship and empowering the people from the resources gotten from his chain of businesses believe that when Prince Dugbo get to the House of Assembly he will do bigger things such as provision of Shelter for the people.
In his message to the people and the decampees, the House of Assembly Aspirant in Udu Constituency, Prince Sylvester Ogba Dugbo expressed his overwhelming joy over the August occasion, stating that it is imperative that in their quest to free themselves from hunger, poverty, social injustice and economy instability, “we need men of humble beginning and we need men of proven track records to give us the needed opportunity.
He assured the people of his continuous assistance to them irrespective of their political aspiration.
Prince Dugbo, while informing the people that the project is God’s own declared that it is time for Udu to occupy its rightful place in Delta State politics.
