The All progressives congress (APC) Kebbi State on October the 12th conducted primaries across the 21 local governments in the State to bring out flag bearers for the forth coming local governments elections scheduled to hold on the 26th of October 2019.

Reports from various local governments where the primaries were held indicated foul play and glaring imposition of candidates which led to choas.

However violence was reported in Bunza local,Dakin gari and Koko/Besse local governments where police deployed there had to use tear gas to disperse aggrieved supports who are from different camps.

To register their displeasure and disagreement over the conduct of the just concluded primaries, a group of youth Monday staged a peaceful protest in the State capital Birnin Kebbi, the protesters marched through to emir Haruna road to the government house to the party office, no one attended to them as they continue with placards carrying no election at Sakaba, give us justice, come and conduct elections at sakaba etc.

The protest ended no one was hurt but the protesters promised to sustain the pressure till their demands are met.

Earlier a similar group of elders thronged the palace of emir of gwandu his royal highness Muhammad Illiyasu bashar with same complaints of unjustly conducted local government primary election by the APC in Kebbi State.
