The Abia State acting chairman of social democratic party Hon. Chief Chidi Nwosu has described the rumour that the party has been parading and sharing fake party cards in the state as unfounded and frivolous.
He said the rumour is being spread by his detractors.
Hon. Nwosu who exclusively spoke to our correspondent in Umuahia said the membership cards distributed to ward chairmen were signed by the National Leadership of the party in Abuja and challenged the rumour mongers to show the public a sample of the fake cards.
He said he did not arrogate the acting chairmanship to himself rather National Leadership of the party mandated him to act. “The letter to this appointment is here with me”.
“My vision is to win elective position to represent my constituency in Abuja. The congress will bring the chairman of the party in Abia. For now, I am acting. Those who are eyeing the party chairmanship and other Executive positions should prepare themselves for congress that would be held very soon”.
According to him, under my watch, the social democratic party in Abia State has been harmonized and the 184 ward chairmen are on one page. There is no faction in the party in the state”.
He warned party members against sabotage. “Those party members who engage in acts to sabotage our efforts to make the party succeed should be warned. SDP is positioned to win election in Abia and right the wrongs of the present administration in the state. Any arrangement to distract us will be resisted”. He said.
“My advice is for the people of the state to join and vote for the party to end the misrule in the state.
